Lost in Music
Life's Big Moments
all come with
songs attached, tracks that beam
you back in time whenever they're
replayed. We all have them.
Even pop stars. This month:
Felix Buxton from Basement Jazz
In this article (page 22) Felix refers to:
Silent Night (live) by Terence Trent D'Arby
"I had tears in my eyes and so did
all the girls..."
"Terence Trent D'Arby was the person I
saw in concert during my teens. I'd loved to have gone to
Donington's Monsters Of Rock festival because it wasn't far
away from where I lived and everyone at school went. But I
never had any money. Why Terence Trent D'Arby? I liked the
James Brown-ness of him. When I was young, Kevin Keegan was
a hero and then there was Adam Ant, Sting, then Terence Trent
D'Arby.
I wanted to be a mixture of all of them. Why?
It seemed a good way to get ladies and generally be succesful.
The concert was at the De Montfort Hall in Leicester. It was
about 75 per cent girls and he did Silent Night - it was just
before Christmas - and it moved me to tears. I had tears in
my eyes and so did all the girls."
