Angels & Vampires - Volume I Chapter 2: MONKEY PUZZLES: pastiche, present & future

Introduction to chapter 2:

'The Monkey and The Mermaid'

A MONKEY AFTER QUITE A FEW BANANA DAQUIRIES FELL INTO A COSY WET DREAM.
A WET THAT CAME FROM THE WAVES WHICH SLAPPED AGAINST THE BEACH WHERE HE DREAMT HE LAY. A MERMAID APPEARED AND ASKED HIM IF HE HAD A WISH, AS MERMAIDS WERE AUTHORIZED TO GRANT WISHES TO THOSE WHO SAW THEM AND THAT SHE WOULD GRANT HIM ANY WISH EXCEPT THE WISH TO TURN HUMAN BECAUSE APPARENTLY AFTER MONKEYS SPEND TIME IN HUMAN BODIES THEY SEEM TO LOSE THEIR MONKEY SENSES AND GO CRAZY. THIS PARTICULAR MERMAID HAD ONCE GRANTED THE MAN OF A THOUSAND YEARS A WISH WHICH WAS TO BECOME A FISH, AT HOME IN THE OCEAN YET ABLE TO WALK AND BREATHE ON LAND. THE MONKEY ASKED INSTEAD SIMPLY TO BE LEFT ALONE ON MONKEY-TIME TO THINK MONKEY-THOUGHTS, PURSUE MONKEY-LOGIC AND CHASE A LITTLE MONKEY TAIL BEFORE HIS MONKEY-CONSCIENCE GREW BIGGER AND REASON TOOK OVER. HE WAS SOMETIMES GRUMPY-MONKEY AND SOMETIMES HE WAS A JUMPY-MONKEY, THOUGH THROUGH FITNESS AND EXERCISE HE WAS NEVER QUITE A LUMPY-MONKEY. AFTER SOME MOMENTS AS SPACY-MONKEY HE ADMITTED TO THE MERMAID A GREAT CURIOSITY ABOUT DOLPHINS. HE WAS FASCINATED THAT THEY SWIM IN THEIR OWN BIRTH AND NEVER LEAVE IT AND NEVER SEEM TO GET THAT GASSY BLOATED FEELING THAT EVEN THE FITTEST MONKEYS SOMETIMES DO. THE MERMAID DECIDED TO INTRODUCE LITTLE MONKEY MAN TO HER GOOD FRIEND LILIANA, A RARE PINK DOLPHIN AT HOME IN ALL WORLDS. AND MONKEY WILL BE PUZZLED NO MORE, BECAUSE NOW MONKEY IS AN EARLY RISER, HAVING GROWN A LITTLE WISER…

These transmissions are dedicated to:

Mother Africa (one day your shores will be free of foreign mischief and your pure light can shine again for the whole world, which desperately needs it).
Master Maurice White who used his vehicle 'EARTH, WIND & FIRE' to praise and raise God's Children and give them great rhythms to dance to. To dance is to free ourselves and he thought enough of our minds to treat it with respect.
Masters Becker and Fagan of 'STEELY DAN'.
Master Prince (a great example of excellence who made everyone in my generation better and kept us honest, at least those of us who cared).
Martha Stewart (I know it ain't been easy…)
Saint Kurt Cobain of Seattle (or there abouts) for his integrity, humanity and willingness to examine the truth at all costs and for his ability to uplift all of those who recognized him as a brother.
Sir Elton John
And lastly but not leastly (egads, my puns are getting beastly!) my three Graces:
Francesca, Frances, Lilian
Most of all these songs are dedicated to all sufferers, you know exactly who you are!
